Research of yarn detection based on jitter characteristics

Abstract: Aiming at problem of low detection accuracy in the realtime identification of yarn movement in the production of textile, a new method was proposed which can identify the features of yarn movement effectively using infrared photoelectric detection. It is the basis of proposed method that, when the movement of soft yarn, it should cause a certain frequency jitter, and when the yarn exist in the nonuniform light field, the location change of yarn caused by the jitter will change the light signal strength which received by sensor. Detection procedure was given, and the key module in the detection procedure was described in detail. By the experiment, its feasibility was demonstrated. The results indicate that the method proposes a new idea for detection and identification of yarn movement on line, and it is well expected that the proposed method is beneficial for the kind of problems.
