Abstract: In order to meet the testing requirements of magnetic motors of capacitor discharge ignition (CDI) and improve the accuracy, efficiency and automation level, an automatic testing system based on virtual instrument was investigated. The HMI was designed with the operation of manual and automatic modes based on the LabVIEW measurement and control platform. The voltage signal acquisition, filtering, time-frequency and peak processing were implemented to measure the peak voltage and ignition advance angle in synchronous. The magneto ignition energy was tested with sync integral operation for discharge voltage and current. This testing system is verified with the designed testing benches and it can achieve various performances of two magnetic stators in once with the efficiency improved by 80% and the error no more than 1%.The experimental results indicate that this system has high reliability, flexibility and measuring precision and it reduces costs and labor intensity dramatically.
Key words: magnetic motor; virtual instrument; testing system; ignition advance angle; igniton energy; data acquisition and processing
