Simulation research of excitation mode on metal detection sensor structure for electromagnetic imaging

Abstract: Aiming at the choice of excitation mode in metal detection sensor system of electromagnetic imaging, three main excitation modes: single excitation mode, adjacent excitation mode, relative excitation mode were studied in metal detection sensor system of electromagnetic imaging, and the following two kinds of excitation modes under different excitation signal directions were studied comparatively, a solution of modeling for the sensing structure of eight coils and sheet metal under test based on electromagnetic simulation software Ansoft Maxwell was proposed, in three different excitation modes, the induced voltage signals in eight coil sensor structure were solved out respectively, compared and analyzed; The results indicate that when the sine voltage signal is used as excitation signal and relative excitation mode has the excitation signal of the same direction in metal detection sensor system of electromagnetic imaging, the system excitation electromagnetic field has a widest range, the induced voltage signals shows the largest amplitude, and the sensor sensitivity is the strongest. The simulation analysis has significance to the design and construction of actual electromagnetic imaging based metal flaw detection system and the development of image reconstruction algorithm.
