Abstract: Aiming at the problem of speed control of switched reluctance motor(SRM),in order to enhance the speed control performance with robustness.A new speed control scheme of SRM was proposed with adaptive linear element(Adaline) based on sliding mode learning algorithm(SMLA). The Adaline was combined with proportional plus derivative(PD) controller.Electromagnetic torque and fluxlinkage was identified with the current and rotor position as feedback variables. The direct torque control(DTC) was adopted in fluxlinkage and sector computation. Two cases of simulation were given. The results indicate thatAdaline with SMLA not only can identify the electromagnetic torque and fluxlinkage of the SRM with fast and robust performance, but also can realize the speed control of SRM combined with conventional PD controller. The proposed method needs not any parameters of the SRM in the speed control procedure.
