Abstract: Aimming at digesting the tamping machines design technology of a large tamping coal charging car, a frame of 6.25 meters large tamping machine was analysed under the condition of lifting and dropping hammer. The method of dimension optimization and fatigue analysis of the tamping machine frame were summarized, and a research method was proposed based on multibody dynamics and finite element method. The model was verified and the forcestime curves of bearing seats were obtained by dynamic simulation, based on the dynamic model of hammer lifting device. Then, the finite element method was used to the dimension optimization, and the strength analysis of the tamping machine frame under the condition of lifting and dropping tamping hammer. The result of the dimension optimization of the frame was obtained.The maximum displacement and stress of the frame were determined. Finally, the finite element method was used to analyse the fatigue of the optimized tamping machine frame. The results indicate that the weight of tamping machine is reduced, which can improve the economic efficiency of tamping coal charging car effectively.
