Abstract: Aiming at the problems that the constant rotation angel and uneven distribution trajectory while manufacturing with concentric circles, the process parameters for material removal of highprecison balls was investigated. The high precision balls can be manufactured by using spiral groove lapping plate and changing rotation angel. The processing trajectory can be distributed over the entire spherical surface after a single processing cycle. After the analysis of the load with different diameters of the same batch balls, the mechanical model was established. The numerical analytic method was presented to influences on load distribution of balls grinding. The material removal with different pressure and rotation speed were tested. The experimental results indicate that small processing load has a certain advantage in “sizeselective”. The large load is used to improve the material removal rate in rough stage, and the small load is used to get optimal accuracy in finishing stage.
