Abstract: Aiming at the problem of serious edge contact between involute cylinder gears caused by deflected load, the antideflection ability of drum corrected gear was studied. The finite element model of the spur gear pair under load was established by the software Abaqus. Starting from drumshaped modification and deflected load, the distribution law of drumshaped modification which at 0, 20μm, 50μm and deflected load which at 0°, 0.1°, 0.2°on the stress distribution characteristic of gear was analyzed, and the interaction between drumshaped modification and deflected load was researched. The results indicate that the drumshaped modification can reduce the edge stress concentration of gear, which impels stress concentration region to move to the middle of gear. Deflected load will increase the contact stress and bending stress will be significantly. Drumshaped modification can enhance the antideflection modification ability of gear and reduce the edge contact.
