Abstract: Aiming at the difficulty of assembling the accumulator shell and piston of largesize servo mechanism manually, the highprecision dimension measurement, automatic adjustment of axis, flexible fixture were studied in this paper. An automatic alignment assembly equipment was designed. The dimensions of the inner wall of the shell and the outer wall of the piston were measured by using the bidirectional probe, which reduces the measurement error, and the passive flexibility was realized by the ball twist with the locking mechanism. The precision XY sliding table which is closedloop controlled and flexible fixture was used to realize the automatic adjustment of the axis. The physical assembly test was carried out by using the developed alignment assembly equipment. The results indicate that the equipment can realize the highprecision alignment assembly of the largesize accumulator shell and piston, and can effectively reduce the lateral force in the assembly process so as to avoid cutting the sealing ring or the inner wall of the shell, also can record the assembly process data in real time.
