Abstract: Aiming at the problem of frequent accidents of heavyduty trucks loaded with drum brakes on downhill sections, the temperature and stress changes during the braking process of the rear axle singledrive drum brake were studied. The finite element analysis method was used for the brake drum, brake shoe and friction lining of the automobile drum brake for thermal analysis and structural analysis. The temperature field calculation results were added to the model, and the stress distribution of the brake structure was solved, and the thermal coupling analysis was performed. The thermal coupling finite element model of the drum brake was established using ANSYS workbench. The thermal coupling effect was analyzed 15 times by the brake friction heat generation simulation test. The results indicate that the temperature rise of brake drum, brake shoe and friction plate is obvious, and the critical point of thermal decay critical temperature is determined by monitoring.
