Simulation on tribological property for port plate pair with bionic texture surface of water hydraulic motor

Abstract: Aiming at the problem of friction and wear of water hydraulic motor, based on the theory of dynamic pressure support, the tribological characteristics of the distribution pair with bionic texture surface of water hydraulic motor were studied. The bionic texture with different diameters, depths and distributions was constructed on the surface of the distribution pair of water hydraulic motor by using the existing surface microtexture, and the bionic distribution surface with different texture morphologies was simulated by using finite element method. The stress distribution was calculated and analyzed. And the frictional equivalent stress under different pit density and depthdiameter was obtained. The results shows that the double texture seawater hydraulic motor with cylindrical pit on the rotor end and conical pit on the port plate has the best tribological characteristics. Therefore, the proper pits and distribution density can effectively reduce the wear and prolong the nofailure lifetime of the port plate pair.
