Kinetic characteristics of toggle mechanism of
high-speed punch

Abstract: Aiming at the problem of difficult to obtain the ideal stamping curve for the traditional crankshaft highspeed press, a comprehensive study of kinetic characteristics of SEFTEC Best30 toggle highspeed press was executed by means of theory, simulation and experiment analysis. Bar group analysis was used to derive the kinematics equation, and the force of each component was analyzed. Based on the ADAMS software, the kinematics and dynamics simulation analysis of toggle mechanism was carried out, and the effects of different crank length and rotation speed on the motion characteristics were explored. Finally, the test platform was established to perform dynamic characteristics of the bottom dead center and verify the simulation results. The results indicate that the kinematic mechanism of toggle mechanism is obviously better than the crank mechanism, the bottom dead center acceleration is reduced by 52.92%, and the speed extreme value is increased by 13.34%. The toggle mechanism has a good quick return characteristic, and the return time is half of the departure time. The bottom dead center has high dynamic precision, the instantaneous precision is less than 0.004 mm, and the everlasting precision is less than 0.02 mm, which meets the requirements of precision punching.
