Abstract: Aiming at the complex transmission path in planetary gearbox and the coupling of multiple characteristic frequencies, the wear fault of tooth surface of planetary gear box was studied. The 1.5dimensional spectrum based on complex field can be used in the case of satisfying quadratic frequency coupling was proved by formula. A fault diagnosis method based on frequency coupling for 1.5dimensional envelope spectrum was proposed. The life cycle experiment of planetary gear case tooth surface wear was tested, the wear fault feature of planetary gearbox was extracted and the change rule of quadratic frequency coupling fault feature in the process of planetary gear case tooth surface wear was summarized. The results indicate that the 1.5-dimensional envelope spectrum of frequency components generated by coupling can extract the quadratic coupling fault feature better, and identify the planetary gear wear fault more accurately, which provides a favorable basis for the wear fault of tooth surface of planetary gearbox.
