Abstract: In order to solve the problem that people with walking disabilities cannot walk normally, TRIZ/patent circumvention integrated technology was applied to the innovative wheelchair design of automatic stair climbing stairs. After the analysis of patent of automatic climbing wheelchairs in our patent database, avoiding objects were determined to be under actuated adaptive wheelchairs. The functional model of TRIZ theory was used to analyze the problems of patent technology of automatic stair climbing stairs. The functions of insufficient function, excess function and harmful function were eliminated by being combined, replaced and cut out, etc. Two pairs of technical contradictions were obtained by analyzing the functional model after deformation. TRIZ principles of invention corresponding to 39 general parameters were used to solve the technical contradictions. With the application of TRIZ theory for patent circumvention, a planetarytrack integrated automatic climbing wheelchair was innovated, and rationality of the design was verified by using SOLIDWORKS to analyze the basic parts. The results indicate that the product is more stable and safe than the planetary climbing wheelchairs, more durable than tracked wheelchairs, lighter in quality and lower in cost.
