Abstract: Aiming at the vibration problem of thin-walled workpieces in the milling process, an active damping device was used to conduct an experimental study on milling vibration control of thin-walled workpieces. After ANSYS modal analysis, a milling vibration active control experiment platform was built. And the inertial actuators were separately installed in different positions of the workpiece and in the milling machine spindle in order to compare the vibration control effects of the active damping device under different working conditions. The experimental results show that the active damping device can effectively suppress the milling vibration of thin-walled workpieces with a maximum reduction of 40.6%; the vibration reduction effect of the actuator placed on the workpiece is better than that of the milling machine spindle, and the closer the actuator is to the cutting position of the milling cutter, the better the vibration control effect is.
