Load modeling of CRH3 electric multiple unit traction drive system

Abstract: Aiming at how to analyzing the load characteristic of traction power supply system and establishing a high-speed railway power supply quality evaluation platform, a Matlab/Simulink model of CRH3 electric multiple unit(EMU) traction and drive system was established by using vector control. According to the characteristics that main portion of this EMU load is induction motor, a model of induction motor paralleling static part was used to establish a mathematical model of this EMU. Particle swarm optimization(PSO)was used to estimate the parameters of this model, and good fitting results were obtained of power by using the parameters. The results indicate that this model can describe the dynamic characteristic of EMU load very well,also it proves that the identification algorithm is effective.
