Monitor system of energyfeedback electronic load based on CAN bus and LabVIEW

Abstract:  In order to realize the automatic  control and realtime data acquisition during  the  burnin test of the  power supplies, a monitor system was designed for the energyfeedback electronic load system with CAN bus and LabVIEW. The energyfeedback electronic load system contains 72 electronic load units with 3 kW which distribute in 8 cabinets. Each unit was controlled by DSP. The monitor system consists of RS485 buses inside the units, CAN buses of cabinet level and one CAN bus of system level. By means of LabVIEW, a human machine interface (HMI) for monitoring and controlling was developed on PC. With the 3level buses ,  the PC can communicate with  each DSP and start or stop the whole  electronic load system. Furthermore, the output currents of power supplies under testing were set by PC. The monitor system acquires the realtime output voltages and currents of the power supplies during the test. The practical  results demonstrate that the monitor system is realtime and reliable. It achieves good performance.
