Abstract: Aiming at the wasting of regenerative electric energy, which was accumulated on frequency converter of elevator, a new gridconnected energy regenerative system was designed. The working principle of the system was investigated. Further more, in order to improve the DC voltage availability and expand the applicable scope of the system, the space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) algorithm was adopted. After the analysis of the principle and implement method of the SVPWM algorithm, a 15 kW gridconnected energy regenerative system was built for experiment. The experimental results show that the DC voltage availability is high and the current thd is low to 3.3% with a small quantity of electromagnetic interference. During applied in the OTIS elevator, the  application results show that  the system is stable and reliable with remarkable energy saving effect.
