Dynamic response analysis and noise prediction of gearbox

Abstract: The dynamic characteristics of the gearbox play important roles in working performance,lifetime,vibration and noise. In order to understand the dynamic characteristics of the gearbox,the dynamic force of a pair of teeth was extracted by ADAMS,which is regarded as a vibration source. Based on ANSYS Workbench,harmonic response of the gearbox was analyzed and the dynamic response curves were obtained. According to the dynamic response,noise was predicted through the method of one-third times frequency. Simulation results indicate that the method can get better dynamic characteristics,provide basis for gearbox design,reduction of vibration and noise.
