Abstract: Aiming at studying the impacts on the metal aluminum plate thickness measurements using Htype sensor excited by three typical waveforms, a method was put forward that Ansoft Maxwell was used to simulate Htype sensor and the results were analyzed firstly ,then an experiment on the system based on data acquisition card was carried out. Based on the principal, firstly the models of the thickness of the aluminum plates and Htype sensor were designed using Ansoft Maxwell, and differential signals were solved under different waveforms and metal aluminum plates with different thicknesses. Secondly, an experimental acquisition system was established. Excitation of the special frequency and amplitude was offered from DAQ2205 data acquisition card. Aluminum plates of different thickness were tested under the H type sensor. The results indicate that the simulation data were verified by the experimental data, which show optimum excitation for Htype electromagnetic eddy current sensor for thickness measurement can be acquired through the above method.
