Abstract: In order to solve the problem of accuracy and efficiency of the railway passenger baggage handling system, the RFID localization technology based on the improved LANDMARC algorithm was investigated. After the analysis of the existing problems in the baggage handling system, the new localization system was established. A method was presented to classify the RFID reference tags and introduce the concept of the reference error in order to improve localization accuracy. The established localization system applying to manage luggage checkin in the railway station was evaluted on the hardware from RF Code company, the improved algorithm was tested. The experiment results show that the improved algorithm can reduce the positioning time, while its localization accuracy is also improved 18% compared to the original algorithm.
Key words: RFID; indoor localization; LANDMARC algorithm; label classification; reference error
