Abstract: Aming at the actual needs of the design and manufacture of bridge inspection vehicle used on a highway, using the finite element analysis software, the mechanical properties of the main structure of the bridge inspection vehicle designed to complete were analyzed. The finite element analysis model of the working basket was established by using the beam element and the three dimensional solid element. The static stress and strain of the main structure under six conditions were calculated respectively. The distribution of stress and displacement under different working conditions, the maximum displacement and the distribution of the maximum stress were obtained. The modal analysis of the main structure under different conditions was carried out. The first six order natural frequencies were obtained under different conditions. The analysis results show that the strength and stiffness of the bridge inspection vehicle are in full compliance with the design requirements, with adequate safety factor. The modal analysis result shows that there is no resonance in the working process of the bridge inspection vehicle. The results of the analysis provide some theoretical basis and technical support for the structural design and the actual manufacture of the bridge inspection vehicle.
