Abstract: Aiming at a four cylinder diesel engine, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method was used to calculate the water jacket flow field of diesel engine cylinder head. A visualization test rig for the flow field of a diesel engine was set up. A diesel engine cylinder was processed into a transparent model. The flow field distribution of the water jacket of the diesel engine cylinder head was obtained by the PIV test system. The velocity distribution of the flow field of a diesel engine cylinder head water jacket under different inlet flow conditions was obtained.The streamline and velocity vector graphs obtained by the two methods were compared and analyzed.The deviation between the two means was compared and the cause of the deviation was analyzed.The results indicate that the change trends of the flow field obtained by the two methods are in good agreement,but in the narrow area,when the number of Re is greater than 10 000, the deviation is large.
