Abstract: Aiming at the timeconsuming and errorprone problem of the manually generated HEX file and the complexity of data management, the principle of compiling and linking was studied, and the method of updating variable address and the way of data management were summarized and analyzed. Designed and developed with m scripts, the HEX automatic generation tool completed data management of the control model and enabled HEX file and A2L file to be generated automatically with one key. The generated HEX file could be downloaded directly to the microcontroller. At last by engine bench test, the correctness and reliability of the generated code was fully verified. The results show that the highpressure common rail control strategy developed with this tool is accurate, and can realize the engines normal operation under various working conditions. The HEX automatic generation tool can greatly simplify modelbased ECU development. Therefore, the tool improves development efficiency, and cuts down costs.
