Finite element modeling and analysis for misalignments of bevel gears of drive axle

Abstract: Aiming at the misalignments of drive axle bevel gears, considered the coupling and nonlinearity of bearing stiffness, a complete finite element model of driving axle transmission system including transmission shaft, bearing, bevel gears, differential and other components was established. The influence of stiffness in the process of shell modeling was considered, the stiffness matrix was extracted by using finite element model, and a finite element modeling method of driving axle was proposed. The simulation analysis model of driving axle was built to simulate the real working condition, the system deformation of the model was calculated, and then the misalignments needed in the design of bevel gear was analyzed. The results indicate that the method can model the components of the drive axle, simulate the test load conditions, shorten the calculation and analysis time,the simulation accuracy meets the engineering requirements,it can realize the calculation and analysis of bevel gear misalignment. It also has certain significance for the design and analysis of other parts in drive axle transmission system.
