Abstract: In order to study the influence of single-stage pump impeller leakage on the performance and axial force of the pump, the performance of single-stage pump at full flow and the change of axial force were analyzed through experiment and theoretical analysis. IS200-50-45/4 single-stage single-suction centrifugal pump was selected to build a test platform. Impellers with 3 and 5 balance holes were tested under the same conditions. During the test, performance and axial force of pumps with different number of balance holes were measured systematically. A comparison between centrifugal pump impellers with balance holes and those without holes was presented. The axial force of the centrifugal pump was studied by theoretical analysis and experimental measurement .The experimental results show that with 3 balance holes, pump head decreases by 0.4%, efficiency decreases by 3%, and axial force decreases by 60%; with 5 balance holes, pump head drops 0.2%, efficiency drops 4.4%, and axial force drops 69%, which provide a certain reference value for engineering practice.
