Abstract: Aiming at the vibration problem of the electromagnetic active balancing system, the modal characteristics of the balancing head rotor system were researched. Firstly, according to the structural characteristics of the balancing head and the assembly relationship between the parts, the balancing head was simplified into 28 beam elements, 10 lumped mass elements and 4 elastic support elements. Secondly, according to the simplified model parameters, the finite element analysis model of the rotor was established in SAMCEF, and the first three free and constrained modal frequencies of the rotor system were calculated. Finally, the experiment was carried out the results of finite element analysis and the simplified method of vibration model were verified. The results show that the first three free modal frequencies of the rotor system are 2 398Hz, 4 365Hz and 5 161Hz, and the first three constrained modal frequencies are 655Hz, 999Hz and 2 398Hz; the first free modal and constrained modal frequencies are 2 380Hz and 665Hz respectively, and the error limit of the finite element analysis results is only 1.17% and 2.3%. The results show that the structure simplification method and support simplification method are correct and the finite element calculation method is effective, which provides an important reference for the development and design of the balance head and vibration research.
