Effect of blade numbers on flow field of wings swing pumps

Abstract: Aiming at the problem that the number of rotor blades affects the flow field and working performance of wings swing pump, in order to study the changes of internal flow field of wings swing pump with different number of blades, the two-dimensional flow field of wings swing pump with 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 blades respectively was studied by using dynamic grid and UDF technology, and its working performance was analyzed. Firstly, according to the working principle of the wings swing pump and the movement mode of the rotor,the relationship between the number of rotor blades and the displacement and volumetric efficiency was analyzed.Secondly,mesh software was used for meshing.Combining with RNG k-ε turbulence model and UDF, the numerical simulations of the pumps with different numbers of blades were carried out.Finally,according to the pressure and velocity distribution cloud diagrams obtained by simulation, the working performances of the wings swing pumps with different numbers of blades were compared and analyzed.The results show that when the number of blades is two, the pressure distribution in the oil suction chamber and the oil discharge chamber is both uniform and the flow rate changes smoothly.With the increase of the number of blades, the oil suction chamber has different degrees of low pressure areas and local increase in flow velocity.Even when the numbers of blades are four,five and six, the flow velocity decreases in the area of the angle between the arcshaped wall and the straight wall in the oil discharge chamber.Therefore, the comprehensive comparison shows that when the number of blades is two, the performance of the wings swing pump is better.
